...thanks. I'm not the greatest at keeping up with the going ons in my life. I find it hard enough completing my diary card for therapy each week.
Anyway, as usual, I'm making changes to my various blogs. I'm not doing anything too crazy but I do have a homeschooling blog up now and have links to my other blogs on this one as well as the other ones (but I only have a link to this blog on one of my other blogs). Now if I can just stay on top of my blogging.
Since I haven't updated much in the last year, should probably mention that I'm doing quite a bit better as far as moods and stuff. I'm still on Prozac which has really helped to dampen the crazy-intense emotions I was feeling and I have the dose pretty well set now. I was seeing a therapist who went on leave back in January and while she was out, was able to get a place in the local DBT program. DBT stands for Dialectical Behavior Therapy. So we have the meds to help regulate the moods and now I'm in the program to learn how to better manage my moods so that the things I do aren't as destructive. Considering I'm the daughter of two parents serving life in prison for murder, this is a VERY good thing for me to learn. So, that's kind of the short version of what's been going on.
How sad! Let me share: What are the consequences of “World without God”? (Psalm 14: 1-7, Romans 1: 18 -32, Romans 3: 9-17)
ReplyDelete•There is no one who does good!
•No one understands or seek God.
•All have turned away, know nothing.
•They are corrupt, their deeds are vile.
•No absolute sense of morality or justice
•Depraved mind and body
•These passages give us totally opposite picture of human race, than what we think about ourselves.
•We think high of ourselves. But our idea of ‘good’ fall far shorter than absolute ‘good’ which God desires or is.
•In conversation with rich ruler, Jesus brought the same issue, “No one is good except God alone. (Luke 18:19)
•If we take God out of equation, our standard of goodness will never reach the absolute ‘goodness of God’.
Only prayer will help your mental state and issues.
are you kidding with you whole god this god that blah blah blah blah... I mean seriously we all have our issues and have to deal with stuff. and really what the hell has GOD done for you?? oh yeah NOTHING he is a figment of your imagination.. PROVE he ever existed?? oh yeah you can't! you have your *belief* and others have theirs... Janeen I am happy for our blogging and how it helps you, the meds that help as you know that is what is best for you and your family rather than not dealing with issues you chose to do what is best for you.. GOD has nothing to do with it. and if he did why would he create such horrible people... maybe if more people would actually open up to reality of things they could see a whole different light stop conforming to what other think is best gather your own info and THEN and only THEN make comments.. I personally don't care what luke, abraham, moses or any other *person* did in the bible as again no SCIENTIFIC PROOF!!!! but hey that is my opinion

Bravo to you for dealing with your issues head-on & not hiding behind a book to excuse your behaviors & feelings. For accepting responsibility for your body and mind and not selfishly waiting around making wishes to an invisible magic fairy in the sky. You're brave and strong.
ReplyDeletePeople are born good and know right from wrong. Even monkeys know right from wrong! To need a god who murders the entire world out of spite only saving a handful, orders men to beat their wives, mutilate their children in order to do "good" makes no sense at all! Religion spawns wars, greed and genocide. NO THANK YOU!
ReplyDeleteI do not need god to be a kind, loving human. I was born already knowing how to do that!
OMGOODNESS! Please do not take that first comment to heart! It is stressful just to read it!!!!!
ReplyDeleteRemember, if you want to feel good, then do good!
Janeen, I truly admire the WORK you are putting into your own mental health and to that of your family. It is truly a labor of love!
Peace, Karen
Janeen...I hope that(and think you have) come to terms with your own beliefs and feel pretty confident that maybe by now you can just sit back with your logical mind(prozac and all) ;) and LAUGH. Laugh at comments like the first one you received here. Remind yourself that you are now using common sense. You are making changes that are bringing you to a better place. What a wonderful thing! You are doing so without relying on faith, or mythology, but relying on your own common sense and two feet to keep you moving forward. So proud to call you a friend :) Ame'
